Staying with the obvious this week.

Wedge Tail Eagle

A Lilac Breasted Roller in

Kruger National Park,

South Africa.

And with that expression I had to include

a member of our new Holland Honey Eater family.

    • In 2013 guides would always point out rollers, eagles, etc and I would dutifully take some photos an see a small black blob on my cameras preview screen. It was not until I returned home and could view some of these photos on my PC that I realised how pretty some of the ‘blobs’ were. The following year in Botswana, some roller perched within about 30 metres of us and we could see how pretty they are/were. The Wedge Tail Eagle was captured with a 500mm lens so it closeness may be exaggerated a little. However, it was one of the few times I have been able to capture a half decent image of onee.
