Fandango’s One Word Challenge:  Contrast

Wordless Wednesday18_1127-Cats

 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Earlier this week one of MGW’s students

presented her with…

Another one of the ladies in MGW’s workplace…

was gifted a drawing of Roli…who isn’t as grumpy

as his brother Humphrey according to the artist.

JUst wish I had the talent (and patience) of this young lady.

Hope you enjoyed.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Cold

When there’s a forty below room around…

one just has to give it a try.

Back in  the winter of 2006 horizontal icicles

formed on our verandah roof and momentarily

dripped water over the edge of

the spouting/gutter, in the foreground.

We thought that was cold.

Below is an example of the tracks, trails, if you will,

we followed through the Botswana’s Kalahari Desert.

I’m just glad our guide knew where he was going.

Or is it an area where all tracks lead to the same destination?

I worked in New South Wales many years ago.

We arrived at the property and after a few hundred metres

the road divided, then again and again.

One of the passengers told me not to worry the tracks

all lead to the same place…our destination.

And this is what the tracks looked liked.

Labradors are known as docile dogs…

however, we have seen Maggie arc up

at our unfriendly neighbour.

The first ever labrador I had anything to do with took on

6 sheep dogs after it tired of them annoying it.

The ‘discussion’ only lasted 30 seconds.

And our first lab, Jessie, or maybe Maggie,

eventually told one of my annoying sheep dogs

what to do with its annoying habits.

Word of the Day Challenge:  Docile

I had hoped upon retirement that I may have been able

to sell a few photos to pay for equipment.

Pretty much what I used to do back in the 1980s

when taking wedding photos.

There are too many people who think photography is luck…

and to some extent it is.

Right place, right time, right settings.

Earlier this year I watched as a visitor to my display raved over this photo.

He couldn’t, or said he couldn’t believe it was a photo.

Travel is on my  bucket list.

This post has been interrupted by talking

to our South African Guide about our 2020 visit.

I could cheerfully hang this shot on my wall.

Trouble is blue doesn’t go well with our colour scheme.

It would be great to be able to fund camera equipment from photo sales.

So that’s my bucket list…or a portion of it.

Homemade hand mades….mostly.

Was this wooden water pipe handmade….possibly.

A community group assembled these planter boxes

with the aid of a few power tools.

Rough and ready but it is the first thing

I remember making for a wee Brandy pup in 1988.

In 2016 it was replaced with…

with a newer model for a newer pooch.

The old pooch gave it her seal of approval.

Candi even has a verandah in front.

Really I decided not to cut the timber

and it has been a real bonus for her.

But Taji’s kennel was the first and biggest one I made.

Big enough  to cater for visitors.
