Jo’s Monday Walk

Leaning Tower of Pisa

Before we arrived for this short walk we were advised

that there would be some ‘public transport’ to assist

our journey from bus stop to town…about 300-400 metres.

Not far but by this stage I feet were glad of any respite.

Off the bus/coach and onto McDonald’s Express.

This was my first surprise.

A hidden Tower?

Even this morning many of Google’s photos

depict the Tower in what appears to be

an uncluttered field.

And walls like this to further add some mystery to the area.

Pisa Baptistery of St. John

Pisa Cathedral

And the Leaning Tower is actually

the Cathedral’s, Bell Tower.

WE had neither time or energy to climb to the top

and decided this was close enough.

After a few obligatory photos…

we began our walk back to our coach via the market stalls…

stopping only occasionally to view the wares on display.

  2. I was quite surprised by those walls too, Woolly. Solid, aren’t they? 🙂 🙂 I did manage to climb the tower so you might have seen the views over at mine. Such good memories for me. This time last year I was getting so excited for my visit. Thanks for sharing.

    • Would have loved the time to climb the tower…I did at Arras in 2017 and the views were fantastic. However, I don’t think anyone from our party climbed Pisa. That would be my only grumble of the trip. We just simply did not have the time to browse(any of the places we visited) and by the time we arrived at Pisa we had grown tired of walking and did not see the point of walking up to a Tower we did not have time to ascend.
