Weekly Photo Challenge-Experimental

My contribution for this week’s challenge…

Recently we had a short, sharp downpour of ‘big’ rain.

It lasted long enough to find a camera

and take a few shots with different shutter speeds.

This is the ‘Out Of The Camera Shot’.

No editing.

This is the result after straightening, sharpening,

cropping, inverting colours and darkening a tad

Both the above are the same shot…

with a 1/80 shutter speed.

A few frames later at a 1/40 shutter speed,

with Picasa’s preset heat map applied,

sharpened to within an inch of its life

in Irfanview (I think) and this is the result.

The large red colouring in the centre

can only be put down to some large drops

falling  close to the camera.

Although MGW does not like the last image, I do.

Although I may try to it again

with different colours

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Letter-M

My contribution for

this week’s challenge

(Needs to have 2 M’s in the word
(mammal, monument, moment, hammer, summit))

Random Ms this week. This was the style of accommodation

we experienced during our first trip to Africa.

To curtail cost we were back to tents, stretchers

and sleeping bags for about one-third of the safari.

During my trip to France this year we were told that

it is not uncommon to find ammunition dumps

like this one outside many villages on France.

This was the first of two we were shown.

About two or three weeks since it was last cleared.

Selling commonplace items like these oil cans,

on Facebook, was not hard.

What was hard to believe was

the price people were willing

to pay for them.

Tucked in behind the red bus is

Britain’s House of Commons…

if my research is correct.

Finally, my commentary about these photos

is another MM word! 🙂

Travel Theme-Frozen

Travel Theme.

Not the first time I have posted either of these.

However, I have never seen another

occurrence of the top scenario.

 Winter 2006 or 2007.

Actually this was a first for me also.

Did not know we had ice rinks in Melbourne.
