Jo’s Monday Walk
Wk-19
Salzburg – 2
A Few shots from our walk around Salzburg.
This sign announcing Salzburg University
looked like a work of art.
And the dates, like this, on buildings are
never seen in Australia.
1360…over four hundred years
before Australia was settled.
Craftmanship of this door.
Love the workmanship in all the fountains…
although this horse does look like it is pain.
By the time we sighted these blokes my feet
were voting to hire one of them.

Looks like a lovely day! We got a lot of rain… it was beautiful nevertheless 🙂

It was a lovely day. We only had two wet days while in Europe….just great.

Pretty cool, Woolly!! Isn’t Europe amazing with the dates you see on buildings? Makes me think how insignificant we are in Australia in terms of time!!

Could not agree more. Even with the amount of land we have pulling down architectural masterpieces and re-erecting architectural monstrosities, seems easier for governments and developers alike than preserving our history. Imagine Rome without the Colosseum? This is rant number 2 for today…so will leave it there. 🙂

The skies were grey with rain the day we saw those sculptures, Woolly, but I still found Salzburg beautiful. I remember real horses huddled under their rain capes. No-one much was carriage riding that day. Thanks for the memories 🙂

We were lucky with the weather and we did see your horses…they nearly made the cur this week. Next week maybe. As I post these walks I am finding untagged photos which I have not seen for six months. So the memories keep popping for me also.
