Week 85
Movement
While there does not appear to be…much movement in this shot,
I can assure you that the subject
was moving quite quickly
across my field of view.
More visible movement as
Candi lunges to catch the rope.

Sweet capture of the gull in flight. =)
And I betcha Candi caught that rope in flight. 😉

I don’t think she did that time, but it is remarkable how she catches while running with the flight now. I have never seen a Kelpie play fetch at all (before Candi), let alone, be hooked on it. Then again, my previous Kelpies were not encouraged to this type of thing. They were trained to round up mobs of sheep quickly and efficiently and in all truthfulness would not have had the energy or inclination to chase a bit of rope. 🙂

Interesting. A buddy of mine has an Australian Sheepdog, and the thing is nothing but energy and inclination. =) She’d fetch all day long, if he had the energy to keep tossing something for her to fetch. =)

That is what Candi is like. I never had a totally pet sheep dog before…although Ginger was after we moved, however she had 3-4 years on the farm.

Working dogs, I imagine, behave quite a bit differently than pets. Amirite? 😉

They do and they don’t. They tire of playing much quicker than a pet does and they expend enormous amounts of energy chasing/rounding up sheep…in my case.
