Floral Friday Challenge.
~~~~~
Our first wet day of our trip
caught up with us in Venice…
where we were destined to take cruise…
across the Venetian Lagoon to Murano.
In Murano’s windows we found quite a variety of flowers…
adding colour to a wet dreary day.
This was by far my favourite.
I should also add that while I described the day
as wet and dreary,
I was referring to the weather.
We had a wonderful lunch among great company
at one of Murano’s restaurants.
St Patrick’s Day is always good. Always the time we look for rain. There was a saying, maybe my father told me, thhat if it rains before St. Patrick’s Day, it’s too early. If it rains after St. Patrick’s Day it’s too late. And if it rains on St. Patrick’s Day it will spoil the (horse) races. How confusing! It’s no wonder that our autumn break did not come when it was wanted. 😀 😀 So here we are on Saturday morning and still no rain for the garden.
I love those old prognostications. Sometimes right. Sometimes not!
Nice to see the photos. We were there in 1988. I have a small glass jar which we bought. Regards.
It is a lovely place. Unfortunately we were still wondering how we would get things home so did not buy any reminders. Just took photos.
