One Word Photo Challenge-Duck

In late February each year a small community

near Geelong holds a Duck Race.

A fun day for all and a fund raising event

for the community, I believe.

duck-race_0028Ducks are sold prior to race day.

When the starter’s gun is fired there is

much jostling for position.

However at the end of one or two hundred metres

hard paddling the field is stretched out

with only the best paddlers, or floaters,

crossing the finish line well in front of the main bunch.

Black and White Challenge:

A bit early this week………time zones and all.

It had to be very early or very late.

I was always under the impression that

cobblestones were old.

My opinion has change since seeing

several construction gangs repairing streets

with new cobblestones in European cities.

A slightly different slant on Construction.

It is generally accepted that a little over 200 years ago

the First Fleet arrived in Australia with its load of

‘convicted’ criminals and settlement of our country,

by Europeans, began.

These first settlers were the foundations upon which

Australia is now constructed.

Happy Australia Day,
