Cee’s
Black and White Challenge:
Rocks, Boulders, Stones.
~~~~~
I will give rocks and boulders a miss
this week and settle for stones.
And where would one find this many stones…
A hint…and if you said…
‘beach’ you would be correct.
The Nice beach just across from the
Promenade des Anglais.
We wondered how people could call it a beach…no sand.
However……
it turns out that some sunbathers
put these stones to good use.
Who would have thought….
It is interesting that The Riviera (43° N)
has a great reputation for sun lovers and so on,
while Geelong’s beaches (38° S), 5 degrees closer
to the equator are not publicised as much as the Riviera is.
That is one rocky beach. We have a cobblestone beach here near one of our lighthouses.
It’s certainly not what was expected of the Riviera. Also fairly dangerous I am told as the stones do not taper out into the water. They just end and one is in deep water. Not good for youngsters or inexperienced swimmers.
