I opted for big plants today…

Plants which were planted to commemorate
the end of a World War.
Eucalypts planted for shelter.
ALthough this small planting would provide
some shade, but not much else.
My guess is that this tree has definitely been
planted as part of a roadside ornamental/memorial
in a small country town.
Fairly certain it is not a native to Down Under.
About twenty metres behind me is Bass Strait,
a rough stretch of water separating
mainland Australia from Tasmania.
Do I hear cheers on both sides of the strait? 😃
These Cyprus pines are showing the
effects of a lifetime of southerly winds.
