My contribution for this week’s challenge…
The Circle of Life
~~~~~
I have read of elephants and their families.
Amazing stuff.
Seeing them herd and protect young calves among
older herd/family members…
then seeing the other end of an elephant’s life.
Some of the books I have read talk about elephants
mourning herd members for many years after a death,
often stopping at a skeleton and gently sniffing the bones.
I wonder had tourists interrupted this ones private moment
with an ancestor?
Any awareness you can bring to the world about the plight of these beautiful creatures is appreciated.
I don’t understand how people can take a high powered rifle and shoot these gentle giants from athe safety of 100-200 metres. Is just NOT sport, hunting or whatever you want to call it. Same applies to many African animals. I hope to return before some of the endangered are wiped off the face of the earth. The only thrill I see when shooting African animals is if you are armed with with a Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Sony etc, etc 🙂 Apologies for my first rant of 2016…am fairly certain there are more to come.
Hi Woolly! Thanks for the mention and a healthy and happy 2016 to you! The Lion King is one of my favourite ever stage shows. Sorry- I know that’s irrelevant 🙂
