Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-City-Structures

My contribution for this week’s

Fun Foto Challenge

Geelong’s architecture through the years
geelong_1859The Gordon TAFE (Technical and Further Education)

has been providing vocational education

to students for over one hundred years.

geelong_1841Across the road from The Gordon is the

Up-Side-Down Building which

houses government offices is

certainly newer but has been around a while.

geelong_1840Pier Point is one of several buildings which

has sprung up along Geelong’s

foreshore during the past ten years.

geelong_1862More recently is the Waurn Ponds library,

known as ‘The Box’,

is on the outskirts of Geelong

in a fast growing area and

opposite an expanding shopping centre.

I’m told it is extremely nice inside.

It is just the outside which is not that appealing.

geelong_1846Back to Geelong city centre, just down the street from

the Up-Side-Down build and The Gordon,

the new Geelong Library is taking shape.

Built on the site of the old library,

it is going to be a feature of Geelong when completed.

while in the background,

the abandoned cement works,

on the other side of town, overlooks all.
