My
Garden
Travel Theme
for this week.
~~~~~
I had thought of posting some photos from Geelong Botanical Gardens, however,
a quick walk around the WM gardens proved to be fruitful.
We have measured half an inch of rain this past twenty-four hours,
another three days of rain would be good
Also could not help but think that these shots or our miniature maple tree
would have hit the spot for…
Cee’s Two Colour challenge this week.
Surrounding the potted Maple tree and creating a border for the bed are
Armeria maritima, ‘Sea Thrift’
These are native to seaside cliffs and grow in infertile, well drained soil.
And nearby our potted orange and…
lemon trees are on the way to producing some more fruit this year.
I think I can detect a hint of yellow on my lemons. My first crop. Do yours take a long time to mature too? I love the photo of the Sea thrift as well.
We picked the final of last years crop in early January, 2014, I think there will be a few more weeks before it is right to eat. I expected the January lemons to be rotten, inside. However, they were the sweetest for the year. Normally we pick them when they ‘look right’ and are required for meals.
Thank you. A short sharp shower of rain was just what the doctor ordered.
There must be a moral here, somwhere …something along the lines of “there’s no place like home”, but without the red shoes. 🙂
