My first two Threes are re-posts but I think they fit this challenge

These photos tell the story of what happens to strangers, particularly small ones,

enter our backyard.

Both canines were pleased to see the fence…but for very different reasons!

A Word a Week Photography Challenge–Atmospheric

Growing up on a farm meant Dad always his ‘weather eye’ on the barometer around shearing, cropping, lamb marking and all those other weather dependent activities.

This was Dad’s barometer.

Some of my earliest memories are of Dad giving the glass face a whack with his knuckle as he passed it in the morning.  A quick look would provide him with all the information he required about forthcoming atmospheric conditions.  I don’t think the morning knuckle whack caused the cracks in the glass.  This barometer is from the 1950s, maybe even the 1940s and is calibrated accordingly.

MGW gave my first very own barometer/weather station.

This new fangled barometer also included a thermometer and a humidity gauge.  However, with one or two parts going missing before, or during, moving  house it was decreed not suitable for our new house.

So it was, a few years ago, that MGW gave me a new weather station which measures all the atmospheric conditions needed to be known on a daily basis.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Orange

We were asked to accompany Number 1 son furniture shopping this morning.

 Forgot to take my camera, or phone, but all twenty some-things are equipped with a phone and he took the furniture photos for me.

I have never seen so much orange in furniture shops before.

I may be stretching the colour here….have never been really good with shade.

I hope everyone with normal eyesight agrees there is a touch of orange in these sunset shots.  If not, too bad!  My eyes say there is some orangish tones.

Now for my pièce de résistance.

Last week there was a news item, on Australian TV, relating to a pace car at a USA race track, which caught fire.

It was an Australian made car…the same vintage as this car, as a matter of fact.

Unfortunately General Motors, and all other car manufacturers have announced they are ceasing to make cars in Australia.

Rather sad when our cars are being exported.

The “General” has been making Holden cars since the late forties, early fifties.

This is a Holden Commodore, SV6.

Just not sure if it qualifies for the challenge as it is not orange.

The colour is ‘Fantale‘.
