A Word a Week Photography Challenge ~ Curve-Roof

~~~~~
During my photo excursion this afternoon I managed to find images which combined both the roof and curve for this week’s challenge.
While part of this slate roof is being replaced I think this section could pass for a walk way.
Marvellous workmanship involved in creating this roof.
Nature also helped me out with some curves which always look good in someone else’s garden.
The Geelong foreshore provided more curves and a roof combined.  This modern structure covers the one hundred and twenty year old Geelong Carousel which provides much entertainment for young and old alike.
The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world. Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored. (Source: Carousel at the Geelong Waterfront).
Friday Flower Festival – Daisy
~~~~~

Early this week I took a wander around our garden to photograph some early winter blooms.

~~~~~
Daisy_1885
This week I focussed on daisies which are getting ready to bloom in earnest.
I have difficulty seeing shades of red among green. I hope this daisy is as visible as I think it should be.
In a few weeks these plants will be covered in bloom brightening the winter gloom.
My favourite.
However, I can see yellow quite clearly and for that reason it is my favourite this week.
A nice drop of ‘sunshine’ to remind us of warmer days.
Cee’s Which Way Challenge-Wk 3
Apart from the train travellers can also take a winding drive through the State Forest to Kuranda Village.
~~~~~

Road_4800

This is the second way to Kuranda Village from Cairns. Although we did not drive this road I am sure it would be my least favourite way to Kuranda.

Wordless Wednesday – Moon Streak

~~~~~
This series of shots was taken just on dark last Saturday evening (July, 19)….around 6 PM.
~~~~~

Moon_1869

I was trying to get my ISO (which I believe is similar to the ASA setting of last century – no pun) button to work with little success.

~~~~~
Moon_1872
Shaking hands, that’s normal for me, and slow shutter speeds did not help the quality of the shots or my disposition…
~~~~~

MoonStreak_1873

This last one is the result of moving the camera before all the clicks, bangs and whirs were completed.  I have not taken time to learn exactly how a digital camera shutter works.  However, in this instance the trees seem to be as in focus, or better than the other shots.

So why the elephant in the picture?

Black and White Tuesday: Abstract

My contribution for this week’s Black and White Challenge.

I think the photos were taken with my iPad…but not sure.

I am not sure what I have photographed…just that I found these on my iPad.

Travel Theme: Tilted

~~~~~
I came across this clock in a garden while photographing an,
as yet, unpublished post.
Thought it would fit with this week’s
 Tilted Travel Theme.
Clock_1865
I am continually watching my time-piece when travelling.
I began to write about what is tilted with this clock.
The more I look at it the more tilts I can see.
Phoneography-Fog
These are four photographs taken with my HTC phone. Taken the same time (few seconds apart), same day, same place.
There has been no colour correcting applied to any of these photos.
So does anyone have an explanation for the odd one?
