Contrasting the first two shots is this beautiful Acacia tree in bloom.

This acacia is known as the

Cootamundra Wattle.

My father always referred to this scene as the first sign of spring.

I am carrying on the tradition.

Finally, during a visit to the Geelong Botanical Gardens in early January I discovered that Californian Red Woods can grow in our climate.
