All photos, in this post, were taken using my HTC mobile/cell phone, through the coach window. In other words they are not perfect.

Last Monday a train trip to Melbourne turned into a coach trip due to line maintenance. This gave a different perspective to entering the city as coaches cross West Gate bridge and a myriad of other elevated roads prior to reaching the Southern Cross railway station bus depot.

In these photos there is a building with a structure like the Sydney Harbour bridge on its roof. This Docklands Stadium which has a seating capacity of 53,000 patrons.

The stadium is in the centre of the above photo, and to the right of centre (below).

Not knowing Melbourne that well, I have often wondered why it was known as Docklands Stadium. These photos have answered that question. Most people attending events at Docklands Stadium would approach it from the opposite side using the walk over pedestrian crossing from Southern Cross.
